How do I start selling online?

Selling online requires a few components - a merchant account, a gateway, and a shopping cart. AND provides expert guidance on the technology you'll need.

This is a big question - it's like asking "how do I get to work?" The answer will be different for everyone, and the answer will also depend on what's important to you.

Ultimately, you'll need three things to sell online. You need a merchant account (that's what AND provides!) along with a payment gateway and a shopping cart. To simplify things - a shopping cart controls what your customer "sees" on your site, and how your customer interacts. A gateway controls how the data is managed and authorized. The merchant service provider funds your bank account for the sales, and holds risk on the transactions.

Many merchants work "backwards" - they choose the shopping cart first as it dictates the customer experience. Based on what cart they choose, they'll then be limited in what gateways the cart can work with. So, they'll pick a gateway that integrates with their chosen cart. Lastly, once you have a gateway picked out, then you have to find a provider that integrates with your chosen gateway.

It can sometimes get a bit complicated, depending on what you're trying to accomplish. That's where industry expertise can come into play - let AND help your business sell online.
